Still Going Strong: The Lear Love Story
After more than three decades of marriage—yes, 31 years!—TV legend Norman Lear and his wife, Lyn, are still as deeply in love as the day they said "I do." How do they keep that spark alive after all this time? Well, it turns out that the secret to their enduring romance is as charming as the couple themselves. At the Producers Guild Awards in Los Angeles on January 19, Lyn opened up about what makes their relationship so special. "He’s the last of the real romantics," Lyn, 72, exclusively told Closer Weekly. And if you're wondering what that looks like in action, here's a sweet example: "Every morning, he wants to have a kiss when I wake up. It’s a nice way to start the day." Can we get a collective "aww" for that?
And guess what? Norman, who's 96 years young, feels exactly the same way about his partner. "I love the way she loves me," he said with a laugh. "I’m just one selfish cat!" You can tell these two are not only soulmates but also the best kind of best friends. Who wouldn't want a love like that?
A Legacy of Love and Laughter
Of course, Norman Lear is a household name thanks to his legendary producing career, which brought us timeless shows like The Jeffersons, All in the Family, Sanford and Son, Good Times, and One Day at a Time. But while he's been busy shaping the world of television, Norman has always prioritized his family. In fact, when asked about the source of his happiness, Norman didn't hesitate. "I think my wife and me have done a really good job," he said proudly. For Norman and Lyn, their kids—Benjamin, Brianna, and Madeline—are the ultimate source of joy in their lives. Family truly comes first for this incredible couple.

When Stars Keep Their Secrets Close
While Norman and Lyn were more than happy to share the secrets of their successful marriage, not all celebrities are so forthcoming. Take Kevin Bacon, for instance. When asked about the longevity of his 30-year marriage to Kyra Sedgwick during an interview with Fox News at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour in Los Angeles on January 31, the 60-year-old actor was a bit more guarded. "There is no secret," he told the reporter with a smile. "In fact, I’ve often had a couple of different one-liners for that answer, and then I decided that really the answer is I’m not going to answer it." Kevin went on to explain that he didn't want to oversimplify something as complex and beautiful as a decades-long relationship. "It’s disrespectful to the relationship," he added thoughtfully. "So I don’t really know." Sometimes, the best love stories are the ones that remain private, right?
