When Alec Baldwin and his lovely wife, Hilaria Baldwin, stepped out for the 2019 SAG Awards on January 27, their four little bundles of joy weren’t by their side. Now, when reporters asked the couple what their kids were up to during this glamorous night out, Alec delivered a hilarious response. He joked that they’d handed over their children to the “valet.”
“We left them with the valet,” Alec, who’s 60 years young, quipped, referring to his kids—Carmen Baldwin, 5, Rafael Baldwin, 3, Leonardo Baldwin, 2, and baby Romeo, who was just 8 months old at the time. But before the joke could sink in, Hilaria, 35, playfully pointed behind her and said, “They’re over there.” Clearly, the couple knows how to keep things light-hearted and fun, even on the red carpet.

Alec Opens Up About Life as a Working Dad
Alec didn’t stop at the jokes. During the same red carpet interview, he opened up about the challenges of juggling his career and family life. He admitted that the past few years have been a major adjustment for him. “It’s been a bit of an adjustment, but we’ve been married for a while, and we had four kids in four years,” he said. “We’ve had to adjust to where it’s all about our kids—everything we do, both of us.”
Now, Alec isn’t just a dad to his four younger kids. He’s also a proud father to his adult daughter, Ireland Baldwin, 23, whom he shares with his first wife, Kim Basinger. But with so many young kids at home, Alec joked that his personal spending has taken a hit. “With all these kids, when I make a movie now, I make no money,” he hilariously shared during a previous appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers. He explained that all of his earnings basically go toward “covering hotel bills” for himself and his family.
Hilaria’s Thoughts on Expanding the Family
Even though Alec and Hilaria are clearly hands-on parents, Hilaria has admitted that she sometimes thinks about adding to their already-full brood. “I think about it a lot,” she confessed on Instagram. “When I’ll have a day that’s really hard with the kids and I’m like, ‘No more kids!’ And then I have a day where they’re just so adorable, and I’m like, ‘I could have another one.’ We’ll see.”
