LeAnn Rimes Opens Up About Blended Family With Eddie Cibrian

Back in 2011, LeAnn Rimes tied the knot with actor Eddie Cibrian, and it wasn’t your typical Hollywood love story. The couple met on the set of the Hallmark film Northern Lights in 2009, and despite both being married at the time, their relationship sparked a whirlwind romance that eventually led to marriage. Now, LeAnn is sharing her experiences as part of a blended family and how it’s influenced her latest project.

LeAnn Rimes Shines a Light on Blended Family Life

LeAnn, now 36, recently sat down with Fox News to discuss her latest Hallmark TV movie, It’s Christmas, Eve. In the film, she plays an interim school superintendent who feels the school’s music program is on the chopping block. LeAnn is no stranger to the importance of music, and she used this role to highlight a cause close to her heart. “There’s music involved. We [her and Hallmark] talked about music in schools and how crucial it is, and yet it’s always the first thing to go,” LeAnn explained. “Music has been such a massive part of my life, and I wanted to bring attention to that.”

But the film isn’t just about music; it also delves into the complexities of blended families. “I have a stepdad in the movie, and my love interest Liam, played by Tyler Hynes, has a daughter. In real life, I’m a stepmom to Eddie’s two boys, Mason and Jake, who are 15 and 11,” LeAnn revealed. “It’s something that’s important for me to shine a light on — the blended family environment in a really positive way, because it’s not something that gets discussed often enough.”

LeAnn admits that some parts of the movie hit close to home. “Having the love interest with a daughter — it definitely mirrors my own life, but it’s not too on-the-nose,” she said. “I can definitely relate to the juggling act of bringing a kid into your life. It’s all about finding balance and creating a harmonious environment for everyone involved.”

LeAnn was also asked about any initial challenges she faced when joining Eddie’s family. She acknowledged that every situation is unique and can be delicate. “It’s an individualized experience, and there are always challenges when blending families,” she explained. Earlier this year, at the 2018 Hallmark Channel Summer TCA, LeAnn shared, “My husband and I have been married for seven years now, and we’ve managed to do pretty well. Things are calm, and I think we’re doing alright.”

LeAnn’s Message to Other Blended Families

LeAnn hopes her story and her new movie can inspire others who are navigating similar situations. “Blended families are more common than ever, and it’s important to have open conversations about the challenges and triumphs,” she said. “Through love, patience, and understanding, we can create beautiful, harmonious families that thrive.”
