At 66 years old, Carol Kane still holds a special place in her heart for her role in The Princess Bride. She insists that the film is nothing short of perfection and doesn't need any revamping. "I don’t think a movie remake [would work] because I think it’s perfect," she told Page Six. "I would gather that [director] Rob Reiner would say the same and everybody in it would say the same." Kane believes that the magic of the original can't be replicated, and she's not alone in this sentiment.
Why Fans Love 'The Princess Bride'

"I think that I cannot imagine them doing a remake although now they’re doing remakes of just about everything," she shared. "But why remake something that’s perfect the first time around? Robin Wright, who played Princess Buttercup in the film, shares Kane's feelings about a possible remake. In an interview with E! News, she mentioned, "I think they entertained the idea for a minute. We thought, ‘Don’t ruin it. Please don’t ruin it.’" Wright reminisced about the unique experience of filming the movie in remote locations, creating a family-like bond with her co-stars. "We were shooting in the middle of nowhere up in the north. It was just us down in the restaurant at night after shooting and it was a big, happy family just having a hoot of a time and playing music at night and cooking dinner and shooting a really great, iconic film," she fondly recalled.
