Hey there, royal fans! Guess what? Turns out, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge might not be as different from us as we thought. During their recent royal tour in Sweden, Prince William and Kate Middleton visited the National Museum of Architecture and Design in Stockholm. While they were there, the couple got a tour of an exhibition showcasing young Swedish designers, guided by none other than Marcus Engman, the head of design at IKEA. And here’s the kicker—Kate, 36, and William, 35, let slip that they’ve got IKEA furniture in their home! Can you believe it? Suddenly, we feel a little more connected to the royals, don’t you?
Now, this revelation wasn’t just about a random piece or two. The royal duo confessed that both Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s rooms are fully outfitted with IKEA pieces. Marcus Engman seemed thrilled by this news, telling reporters, “I’m proud that we can suit everyone, from royals to everyday families.” If that doesn’t make you want to head straight to the nearest IKEA, I don’t know what will!

Before meeting the royal couple, Marcus Engman had hinted at his curiosity. “It would be amazing to know if they have any IKEA furniture in their home,” he said. “I know the Swedish royals do, so why wouldn’t the British royals? IKEA offers a wide variety of options, and our beds, in particular, are fantastic and affordable. You really get a lot of value for your money.” Clearly, the royal couple agrees wholeheartedly, proving that even royalty appreciates a good deal!
Home Sweet Home: Kensington Palace Gets a Royal Touch
Just last year, Kate and William moved into their apartment at Kensington Palace, a decision made to be closer to Prince George’s school and Princess Charlotte’s nursery. Their home was beautifully decorated by the renowned interior designer Ben Pentreath. Despite the high-end designer touches, it seems the couple still values affordability and practicality when it comes to their children’s spaces. This blend of luxury and practicality makes their home feel all the more relatable. Now, with baby number three on the way, we can’t help but wonder if they’ll continue this trend and decorate the new nursery with more IKEA finds!
