Star Jones Opens Up About Love, Life, And Upcoming Wedding

Life has been quite the journey for former The View co-host Star Jones, and now, at 55, she's ready to embark on a new chapter with fiancé Ricardo Lugo. In a candid interview with Closer Weekly, Star shares her reflections on love, health, and the joy of planning a wedding after overcoming heart surgery. Star, who said yes to Ricardo’s proposal back in October, reveals that she knew he was "the one" from the very first moment they met. "He’s just that kind of person," she gushes, adding that Ricardo has this magnetic energy that makes everything feel so effortless.

There's no doubt that Ricardo has made a significant impact on Star's life. Talking about their relationship, she shares, "It’s like being in a serene state all the time. I’ve always wanted someone kind and dependable in my life, and with Ricardo, I’ve found that person. I can completely relax with him. He’s always got my back, and that’s such a comforting feeling." Star continues, "I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on what truly matters in life, and with Ricardo, everything feels easy. It’s like I’m living a dream, and I’m so grateful for it."

Star also opens up about how her perspective on life has shifted since undergoing open-heart surgery seven years ago. While she’s excited to plan her wedding, she acknowledges the importance of cherishing the moments privately. "After going through something as intense as having your heart stopped for 22 minutes, you start to see life differently," she explains. "The things that truly matter to you become even more precious, and sometimes, keeping them private is the best way to honor them. I’m enjoying every second with Ricardo and our son, and that’s what counts."

As a National Volunteer for the American Heart Association, Star continues to inspire others with her resilience and positive outlook. "Each day is a gift," she says. "After what I’ve been through, I’ve learned not to let the small stuff bother me. Life’s too short to sweat the small things, and honestly, after your heart’s been out for 22 minutes, very little can truly bother you!"
