When you talk to Pat Boone, you can feel the deep gratitude he has for his four incredible children—Debby, Cherry, Linda, and Laurey. These kids are the light of his life, born over the course of his 65-year marriage to his late wife, Shirley Boone. Pat and Shirley’s love story is one for the ages, and even though Shirley is no longer with us, Pat continues to honor her memory in the most heartfelt ways.
A Lifetime of Love and Loss
Shirley passed away in January 2019 at the age of 84, after battling complications from vasculitis, a condition that causes inflammation of the blood vessels. Her passing was a devastating blow to Pat, but instead of letting grief consume him, he chose to keep their shared memories alive. One of the ways he does this is by staying in the house where they lived together for 59 incredible years. It's a place filled with laughter, love, and countless cherished moments.
Life Alone with Memories
In an interview with Closer back in August 2020, Pat opened up about his life after Shirley. "I'm living here alone with a housekeeper and my dog, a little cocker spaniel," he shared. "Shadow is his name. It's just me and my shadow, all alone and feeling blue." But despite the sadness, Pat insists he's doing okay. "I mean, gosh, I miss her," he admitted. "But I know she'd want me to keep going, to keep living, and to cherish every moment we had together."
