There’s no denying that Bob Saget left an indelible mark on all of us, whether through his comedic timing or his genuinely lovable personality. Kelly Rizzo, who shared a beautiful life with the beloved "Full House" star from 2018 until his untimely passing in 2022, recently opened up about what she misses most about her late husband. Speaking exclusively to Closer during the Cool Comedy • Hot Cuisine event benefiting the Scleroderma Research Foundation, Kelly shared a touching reflection on Bob’s humor and warmth.
Bob’s Wit and Warmth: The Heart of the Man
“He was one of the most wickedly funny humans that has ever walked this earth,” Kelly said, her voice filled with admiration for the man she loved. “But personally, being married to him, he was just such a constant, big, warm hug. And, you know, I’ll forever miss that. It’s etched in my memory so deeply that I feel like it’s always with me.”
More Than a Comedian: Bob as a Supporter and Caretaker
Kelly, now 45, painted a vivid picture of Bob as more than just a comedic genius. “He was the most incredible support and the most incredible caretaker,” she explained. Beyond his successful Hollywood career, Bob was a proud father to his three daughters, Aubrey, Lara, and Jennifer, all of whom he shared with his ex-wife, Sherri Kramer. But it wasn’t just his family who felt the depth of his care.

What truly set Bob apart, according to Kelly, was his selflessness and boundless kindness. “Bob as a whole was just a person who felt so deeply,” she said. “Everything about him was raw emotion. He was so sensitive and just felt so deeply. And that’s why this cause, the Scleroderma Research Foundation, was so important to him. He lost his sister to this disease in the ’90s, and it was a very personal thing for him.”
A Legacy of Helping Others
Kelly went on to reveal how Bob’s passion for helping others extended far beyond his family and friends. “If somebody called him and said, ‘You know, my cousin or my aunt or my sister has scleroderma,’ he personally would hook them up with a doctor,” she shared. “He personally made sure that they got the treatment that they deserved and that they needed because his sister didn’t have that when she died of this disease. So, he just felt so deeply, and all he wanted to do was help. That’s just how he was—in his professional life, with this organization, and in his personal life.”
Love and Life After Loss
Kelly, who is now in a relationship with Breckin Meyer, admitted that navigating life—and love—after Bob’s death has been challenging. “I was always trying to be sensitive and considerate of my relationship with Bob, of course, forever,” she explained. “But then at the same time, when I got the blessing of his daughters, of his family, of his friends, I knew that it was okay. Even though in my heart, I’m like, ‘OK, I feel it’s time. It was really important to me to get that blessing from everybody.’”

Breckin, 50, attended the event with Kelly, walking the red carpet with her. “Breckin has just been such a blessing also because he’s just so wonderful and supportive, and you know, he’s here with me tonight,” Kelly said. “Which, you know, it’s, it’s a big thing, you know, to come to an event like this where it’s honoring my late husband, you know? So, he’s just been so wonderful. So, I would say I’ve been very, very fortunate because I know not everybody who loses a spouse has such an easy time.”
Bob’s Stamp of Approval?
And Kelly is confident that Bob would wholeheartedly approve of her relationship with Breckin. “We joke all the time that Breckin is, like, the one person on earth that he would actually be okay with,” she shared, a smile in her voice.
