It’s been just a few days since Andy Cohen welcomed his first son, Benjamin, into the world via surrogate. But the new dad isn’t letting the haters get to him. When critics began flooding his Instagram with comments suggesting his beloved dog, Wacha, was jealous of his newborn son, Andy Cohen wasn’t about to stay silent. Instead, the Watch What Happens Live! host decided to take matters into his own hands and address the issue head-on in his signature witty, no-nonsense style.

Wacha's Chewed-Up Torah Toy Sparks Drama

On February 15, Andy posted a series of Instagram Story videos where he humorously confronted his Beagle Foxhound mix, Wacha, about chewing up one of his son Benjamin’s toys. In the first clip, Andy playfully scolds his dog, saying, "Did you just eat my son’s stuffed Torah that the Rabbi gave him, Wacha? And now you’re exhausted?" Andy continues, "That was my son’s Torah. Did you want to explain to my son what you did? And what do I tell the Rabbi? Wacha? Wacha!"

Online Criticism Escalates

What started as a lighthearted moment quickly turned into an unexpected drama when some of Andy’s followers began to "dad-shame" him. In a follow-up video, Andy explained the backlash he faced. "Okay, flooded with DMs from people saying I’ve got a big problem on my hands," Andy admitted. "They're suggesting that Wacha is jealous of my son. Can you believe that?"

But Andy Cohen wasn’t about to let the critics have the last word. "Wacha didn’t know that the Torah toy, we’re talking about a Torah toy, belonged to the baby," Andy quipped. "He just had his eye on a purple f–king toy and he wanted to rip it apart. It’s not that deep. Stand down. Everything’s fine in the West Village." With that, Andy shut down the negativity with his trademark humor and charm.

Andy then directly addressed his dog in another video. "Hey, I’ve been a dad for 12 days, people are judgy as f–k. We gotta be careful, OK? Sometimes a Torah toy is just a Torah toy everybody, right?" Andy’s candid response resonated with many new parents who understand the challenges of navigating the early days of parenthood while dealing with unsolicited advice.

    New Parenthood and Support System

It’s no secret that Andy has been a bundle of nerves since welcoming his son. "Andy hasn’t slept a wink, because he said he doesn’t want to miss anything," a source close to the Bravo star told Radar Online. Thankfully, Andy isn’t going through this journey alone. He has the support of his family, including his mother Evelyn and sister Emily, who are helping him adjust to his new role as a father.

As Andy continues to navigate the ups and downs of parenthood, we wish him all the best and hope he finds joy and happiness in raising his adorable little boy, Benjamin. After all, every parent deserves a little grace—and maybe a nap or two!
