Reflecting on Memorable Interviews: Maria's Career Highlights
From Jim Carrey to Vin Diesel: Building Lifelong Friendships
Maria has had the privilege of interviewing countless stars over the years, and some of those encounters have turned into lifelong friendships. "I'll never forget the fun times I had interviewing Jim Carrey. And then there's Vin Diesel—our friendship has spanned over two decades. It's been incredible to make such meaningful connections with so many talented individuals, whether it's the Kardashians, the Stallones, or anyone else I've crossed paths with," she reminisced.
Who Left the Biggest Impression?
One of the most unforgettable moments for Maria was meeting Sylvester Stallone. "When Rocky Balboa came out, I was gushing about how much I loved it. We both got emotional, and it created a bond between us. This past Christmas Eve, we were talking about that very moment. Even during my brain surgery recovery, I found myself quoting Rocky Balboa. It's moments like these that remind me why I love what I do," she said with a smile.
Which Gig Stands Out as the Best?
For Maria, working at NBC Nightly News was a dream come true. "Being part of such a prestigious half-hour in journalism was an absolute honor. I had the opportunity to tell stories that truly made a difference. And let's not forget the time I interviewed the Obama family. Imagine my surprise when I found out Michelle Obama thought I was gracious. That was pretty cool!"

Why Host the National Dog Show?
With her busy schedule, you might wonder why Maria decided to take on hosting duties for the National Dog Show. "It's a 17-year Thanksgiving Day tradition, and it supports Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation's Pets and Vets program. This initiative pairs veterans with shelter dogs, but here's the twist: the vets actually train the dogs to become their service animals. It's a truly remarkable program that makes a difference in so many lives," she explained.
Saying "I Do" in Times Square
Maria and Keven's wedding was nothing short of unforgettable. "Getting married on Fox's New Year's Eve With Steve Harvey was such a special moment. Steve officiated the ceremony, and we surprised my parents. At the time, we weren't sure what the future held for my mom, who's battling brain cancer. Thankfully, she's doing amazing now, and we celebrated our love with a big ceremony and reception in Greece later that year," Maria shared.
Two Anniversaries? Count Her Lucky!
When asked how she celebrates her anniversary, Maria joked, "I've got two anniversaries now, so why wouldn't I ask for two gifts? Life's all about making the most of every moment!"
