Let me tell you something interesting that happened recently. While it might sound a little out of the ordinary, I don’t think pizza is ever on the menu for Queen Elizabeth. On Tuesday, January 15, Kate Middleton joined a group of kids at King Henry’s Walk Garden who were busy making pizza in an outdoor oven. Can you imagine the Queen enjoying a slice of pizza? Well, that thought popped into the mind of one little girl who just had to ask Kate if the Queen has ever indulged in the cheesy, carb-filled goodness of pizza.
Now, when this little girl asked Kate if the Queen had ever tried pizza, the Duchess of Cambridge was clearly caught off-guard. She didn’t have an immediate answer, which is understandable given the unexpected nature of the question. “You know, that’s such a good question. I don’t know,” Kate replied with a smile. “Maybe next time I see her, shall I ask?” It’s a lighthearted moment that shows the human side of royalty.

Queen Elizabeth's Culinary Preferences
Even though Kate didn’t have an answer, Darren McGrady, who once served as one of Queen Elizabeth’s personal chefs, shared some insight with The Telegraph. According to Darren, the Queen isn’t exactly a food enthusiast. “Sadly, the Queen is not a foodie,” he explained. “She eats to live, unlike Prince Philip who loves to eat and would stand and talk about food all day.” This gives us a glimpse into the Queen’s simple tastes when it comes to food.

Darren also revealed details about the Queen’s strict diet. “No starch is the rule. No potatoes, rice, or pasta for dinner. Just usually something like grilled sole with vegetables and salad.” And if that wasn’t specific enough, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, once mentioned during an appearance on MasterChef Australia that the Queen also avoids garlic. It turns out, garlic is a royal "no-no" and is typically avoided at state banquets and other formal events to prevent any unpleasant breath odors.
