Meryl Streep, one of Hollywood's most respected actresses, seemed to echo Stedman’s sentiments when she told The Washington Post, "[Oprah] launched a rocket tonight. I want her to run for president. I don’t think she had any intention [of declaring]. But now she doesn’t have a choice." Back in September, Oprah herself hinted at the idea with a cryptic tweet. After the NY Post published an article suggesting she could take over from President Donald Trump in 2020, Oprah retweeted it with the simple message, “Thanks for your VOTE of confidence.”
