Chanel Maya Banks, a talented actress known for her roles in shows like Blue Bloods and Gossip Girl, has been found safe after a concerning disappearance. TMZ broke the news on November 13, confirming that the actress was in good health, with no signs of foul play. This came as a relief to her family, who had been desperately searching for her and appealing to the public for help.
Family's Concern Deepens as Days Pass
According to Danielle-Tori Singh, Banks' cousin, the last time the family had any contact with her was on October 30. Speaking with Eyewitness News, Singh expressed her growing concern, saying, "Five days without hearing from my cousin is red flags and alarm bells. She doesn’t go more than 48 hours without speaking to me or her mom. Chanel is like a big sister to me, and her disappearance is deeply unsettling."
With no word from Banks, her family wasted no time in taking action. They flew to California to join the search efforts, distributing flyers in the hope of finding any leads. This was a family in crisis, united by love and determination to bring their beloved member back home safely.

Authorities Conduct Welfare Checks
Law enforcement conducted welfare checks at Banks' California residence, but unfortunately, she was not there when they arrived. Adding to the family's frustration, Singh alleged that Banks' husband, whose identity has not been disclosed, was not fully cooperating with the investigation. Singh claimed, "He’s not willing to help LAPD. He’s not willing to help me or her mom find her. In fact, he’s been removing flyers from posts and cars, which only raises more questions about his involvement."
Community Comes Together to Support the Search
In an effort to cover the costs associated with the search, Singh created a GoFundMe page. The funds raised were intended to cover essential expenses such as hotels, food, rental cars, and gas. Singh explained, "On November 10, my aunt and I managed to enter the apartment. All of Chanel’s belongings were there, except for her phone and laptop. Even her little dog, who she never leaves behind, was still at home. This just doesn't add up. Chanel would never leave without telling her mom or me."
As the community rallied around the family, they raised over $3,000 of their $20,000 goal. However, the financial support was just one part of the equation. The emotional support from strangers who shared the family's story was equally vital in spreading awareness and keeping hope alive.

Singh revealed that Banks' husband claimed he hadn't seen or heard from his wife since November 7. Frustrated by the lack of cooperation, Singh decided to take matters into her own hands. "I’m creating this GoFundMe because we need to hire a private investigator. LAPD has told us that without evidence of foul play or probable cause, there’s nothing they can do," she explained.
For the family, the situation was overwhelming. Singh emphasized, "We’re not from Los Angeles. I flew in from Toronto, Canada, and her mom came from New York. Chanel has no family or friends here, and she would never go somewhere without telling her mom. Please help us find my cousin."
A Talented Actress with a Promising Career
