"My daughters are used to me working odd hours or being out of town frequently," Bateman shared during his acceptance speech at the SAG Awards in January 2019. Honestly, she’s practically a full-time dad too because I’m often away for work. I’m in awe of her ability to handle everything so gracefully. She’s the reason I stay grounded."

Jason’s youngest daughter, Maple, clearly inherited her dad’s sense of humor. In April 2020, during the pandemic, Maple made a playful appearance during one of Jason’s virtual interviews on Jimmy Kimmel Live! She stood by the window, watching her dad film the segment. "There goes Maple," Jason joked. "I keep her outside so there’s more food for me inside the house." It was a lighthearted moment that showcased the close-knit bond between father and daughter.

A Rare Public Appearance

Fast forward to March 2023, and Jason made a rare public appearance alongside Maple at a Los Angeles Lakers game. The father-daughter duo sat courtside, dressed in matching purple and yellow outfits, cheering on the home team. It was a fun outing that highlighted the special bond they share, even in the midst of Jason’s busy schedule.

Connecting Through Ozark

Jason’s relationship with his eldest daughter, Francesca, is equally special. Shortly after the series finale of Ozark aired on Netflix in April 2022, the two began watching the show together. "Last night and the night before, my 15-year-old daughter and I sat and watched the first two episodes of the show," Bateman told Entertainment Weekly in May 2022. "This is a big deal because it’s the first time she’s ever seen anything I’ve done."

The Little House on the Prairie alum explained that it’s not uncommon for kids to be disinterested in their parents’ work. "If you’re a parent, you know that kids tend to tune you out when it comes to your career," he added. "So, it was strange for her to see me on camera, but for some reason, she finally decided to watch Ozark. It’s been a meaningful experience for both of us."
